When I bought the 100-yard warp that’s now wound onto the Newcomb, I experimented with a 10# bag of short selvage pieces. The saleperson said they come from a couch factory. AS a rule, I don’t spend real money for weft fiber, but this looked interesting.
I’m not sure how much fiber (by weight) I’d have to buy to get enough of one or more related colors to make anything other than a hit-or-miss stripe. For the time being, the selvage weft sits in its bag. I trust an idea will happen.
