John and I went to Turrialba in Costa Rica for Thanksgiving this year. John’s son Sean teaches English at CATIE. If you have a choice, November is not the best month to visit; it’s the rainy season. Turrialba is up in the mountains and we were in the clouds several of the days we visited. We never did see a clear blue sky.
However, cloudy days can show color better than clear.
I have plenty of other pictures that documented different aspects of the trip; these are only the ones that documented interesting color combinations I have not seen in my part of NC. I even stopped in a paint store to see if the paint companies offer different samples and suggestions; they didn’t have the same “free” sample cards offered at big box hardware stores. It did appear that the hardbound swatch books offered more vibrant combinations than the exterior suggestion cards I’m used to.
